HostGator deceptive advertising **UPDATED

I recently signed up with HostGator for a reseller account, and during the checkout process I was presented with this banner ad. I immediately picked up on the ‘FREE’ part, since I’m a big fan of free.

But apparently HostGator’s definition of free is a little different than mine – mine naively translates to, oh, FREE. Costs nothing. Gratis. HostGator’s definition amounts to $30 a month, which, by my calculation, puts us about $30 apart from each other. Read more

A fancy iPhone slider

I built this fancy-pants iPhone simulation for my New BFF Robert, who is very good at acting impressed by my novice accomplishments. I used the Riva Slider plugin for Wordpress, built by Matthew Ruddy. I customized the plugin css to include the iPhone background image (borrowed from Nettuts), then hacked together 4 really simple images in Fireworks.
